“Knowing is the easy part; saying it out loud is the hard part.” – Tom Booker
Number of Times Seen – 1 (March 2013)
Brief Synopsis – Annie McLean takes her injured daughter Grace and her injured horse Pilgrim from NY to Montana to seek help from a famous horse whisperer – Tom Booker in coping with life after a terrible horse riding accident that left both Grace and Pilgrim traumatized
My Take on it – I found this movie so long and sooo boring. I don’t know if there really are people like Tom Booker who can heal horses, but I really didn’t care if he could heal them or not. Grace, played by a young Scarlett Johansson was to me a very unsympathetic character and Annie, played by Kristin Scott Thomas was a very unlikable character even at the end. It’s hard to believe that a love affair could really happen between Tom, played by Robert Redford and Annie and throughout the movie, I kept questioning how lonely these two must be if they actually are interested in the other person. I’m sick of Hollywood putting older leading men in romantic situations with women so much younger than them (Scott Thomas is 24 years younger than Redford).
I waited 15 years to finally see this movie and don’t regret the wait at all
Bottom Line – A waste of 3 hours. Not recommended at all
Rating – Razzie Worthy (3/10)
