“This is called farming! You kids are gonna grow all kinds of plants! Vegetable plants, pizza plants” – Captain
Number of Times Seen – 2 (3 Jan 2009 and 20 May 2013)
Brief Synopsis – A robot tasked with cleaning up Earth’s ecological filth 700 years in the future becomes the unexpected devise for it’s salvation.
My Take on it – It really amazes me that a company like Pixar can just have one success after another and another without missing every few steps. It just hasn’t happened.
With Wall-E, they found a way to tell a story about inanimate objects showing feelings and not using much dialogue. The first 35 minutes of the movie doesn’t even have human interacting with the robots (only a few videos).
What I loved the most about this movie was the seamless integration of live action within animation. I can’t recall ever seeing that before [and I’m not talking about Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988)].
It also tied the record created by Beauty and the Beast (1991) for the most Oscar nominations for an animated film (6) and as of now, they still hold that record.
Bottom Line – Pixar are the masters!!! Great animation and great movie. Highly Recommended
Rating – Oscar Worthy
