Monsters Inc (2001)

monsters“I don’t know, but it’s been said, I love scaring kids in bed!” – Mike

Number of Times Seen – 3 (at least, in theater 24 Feb 2002, on DVD and 12 April 2013)

Brief Synopsis – Two Monsters,  whose job is to scare children at night, accidentally bring a human child into their world and must figure out how to get her back home safely.

My Take on it – For Pixar’s 4th movie, they chose a theme that scares every kid; monsters in the closet.  They really thought of an ingenious storyline by trying to show the perspective of these monsters instead of from a kids perspective.

The animation is amazing. To be able to show hair on a monsters back moving back and forth while he walks.

Voice talent is superb as always; Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, James Coburn and the Pixar stape voice – John Ratzenberger.

A worthy follow-up to Toy Story 2 (1999) in the Pixar canon.

Bottom Line – Animation is superb as is the voice talents. Very ingenious storyline. Highly Recommended

Rating – Oscar Worthy
