“I’m gonna hit you so hard that when you wake up your clothes will be out of style!” – Brandon Walsh
Number of Times Seen – Too many to count (Theater, DVD, 2 Jun 2013)
Brief Synopsis – A group of teenagers set out to find a long lost pirate’s treasure to save their town from developers
My Take on it – What a fun movie. I saw this when it came out in the theater back in 1985 and can never get tired of it. Very clever and simple plot executed to perfection by Steven Spielberg (Producer) and Richard Donner (Director).
Amazing young cast that many of them continued to have successful careers in Hollywood later in life; Sean Astin, Corey Feldman, Josh Brolin, Jeff Cohen, Martha Plimpton and Kerri Green. Even the adult actors (Robert Davi and Joe Pantoliano) had amazing careers.
As a kid, my friends and I always wanted our own Goonie adventures, but obviously whatever we were able to do was nothing compared to what these kids got to do 🙂
Also, who can forget the music. Cyndi Lauper and the instrumentals for this movie are excellent!
As a bonus, Here’s a recent picture of the cast:
Bottom Line – Great fun movie! Highly recommended
Rating – Oscar Worthy
