Brief Synopsis – A new big budget take on the story of Jack and the Beanstalk

My Take on it – I have been anticipating this movie for a few months. I had higher expectations for it, but it still pleased me very much.  The story is more interesting than the “original” Jack and the Beanstalk storyline.

I liked the characters and Bryan Singer was even able to add in a bit of humor on the part of the giants while keeping the lavish feeling of this impressive adventure.

The special effects were seamlessly done. Everything looks like it naturally was there instead of via CGI.

Ewan McGregor, Ian McShane, Stanley Tucci and Bill Nighy were great as always and newcomers Nicholas Hoult and Eleanor Thomlinson were also excellent as the young leading couple.

Fun movie. Great Special effects! Excellent update on the old fairytale.

Bottom Line – Fun adventure story. Nicely done by Bryan Singer. Recommended

Rating – Globe Worthy
