“Everybody everywhere will say Clint Eastwood is the biggest yellow belly in the West.” – Saloon Old-Timer #3
Number of Times Seen – Too many to count (Theater, DVD, 16 Jun 2013)
Brief Synopsis – In the final BTTF movie, Marty goes back to the old west to save Doc Brown
My Take on it – This was the first movie sequel that I can recall where I had been expecting the next installment from the moment the previous one ended. In the theater, they had a preview for this part at the end of BTTF Part II which definitely made me want to see this one as soon as possible.
When this movie came out in the theater, a few friends of mine who were die hard BTTF fans, watched the original BTTF and Part II on video one Sunday morning and then saw this one immediately afterwards. I don’t recall why I couldn’t join them, but, subsequently, I have had the opportunity to watch all 3 in a row.
I must admit that I have always been somewhat disappointed by this finale of the trilogy. Even though I enjoyed seeing Marty and Doc again, I think the producers should have kept it as a sequel and cut down a bit on the whole western part and make the movie a bit longer. This movie just spent too much time in the Old west that it felt somewhat drawn out.
Nevertheless, the movie is very enjoyable and it definitely does a nice job of book ending the BTTF storyline.
Bottom Line – Weakest of the BTTF Trilogy, but it’s still a very fun movie. Nice to see familiar faces for the final time. Recommended!
Rating – Globe Worthy
