“It’s always been a game, only now the bad guys have a stronger team, got a better draft.” Judge Benjamin Caulfield
Number of Times Seen – 1 (17 Jul 2013)
Brief Synopsis – A young judge fed up with how criminals get freed due to technicalities in the justice system joins a group of Judges who take the law into their own hands,
My Take on it – I really liked the idea that this movie tried to portray, but ultimately they weren’t able to follow thru.
Michael Douglas just doesn’t seem believable as the main character and Hal Holbrook seems more preoccupied discussing baseball than anything else that he should be doing. Yaphet Kotto is competent as a seasoned detective trying to find the murderers of a young child.
I wish that they would have explored the main idea better and then it might have been a much better movie.
Perhaps one day they will re-make this movie the right way.
Bottom Line – Good premise, but not executed very believably. Not Douglas’ best, but still worth seeing even if the idea isn’t fully complete.
Rating – BAFTA Worthy
