“I can’t remember any of my life before this flight began” – Payton
Number of Times Seen – 1 (12 Aug 2013)
Brief Synopsis – 2 crew members of a star ship wake up mid-voyage and try to find out what happened to the ship and the rest of the crew
My Take on it – I am not a fan of horror movies, but I really liked this one. The concept was amazing.
I have always enjoyed movies that deal with memory loss and the quest to regain it. It doesn’t matter if they are stories where the character doesn’t know the truth, but we find it out little by little (like the way Memento (2000) or The Hangover (2009) did it) or if we learn the truth together with the characters (Bourne Identity (2002), 50 First Dates (2004), Clean Slate (1994), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), or Paycheck (2003).
Ben Foster and Dennis Quaid are both great as the two lost crew members who slowly gather other survivors in order to try and figure out what happened.
The plan was for this to be a trilogy, but since it didn’t do well in the theaters, a sequel seems unlikely.
I wonder what the plan was for the continuation of the story.
Bottom Line – Great plot, not too fond of horror, but done well. Recommended
Rating – Globe Worthy
