Brief Synopsis – The further adventures of the crew of the (rebooted) Enterprise
My Take on it –I think it is quite fitting that this is my first encore viewing review since this was also the first movie that I watched in the theater that I reviewed [small world I guess :)]
Watching this movie a second time, I was as captivated as the first time even though I knew what was going to happen.
This is a great movie to see at least once on the big screen, but it isn’t necessary every time afterwards.
Knowing the plot doesn’t in any way diminish the movie watching experience and pleasure, In fact, it enhances it because you can focus more on whats actually going on on the micro level instead of just the macro.
The actors take to their roles very well and even though this is only the second movie of this new franchise they all seem very comfortable working together in character and all act as if they know each other as friends and shipmates for many years.
In essence, the camaraderie is there!
Many reviewers have found fault in the fact that the writers “borrow” from Star Trek history, but I actually enjoy the way they meld the old with the new, creating a richer and more convincing future world for the characters to inhabit.
Keep em coming!!!!
Bottom Line – Excellently done. Lots of sci-fi thrills. Highly recommended!
Rating – Oscar Worthy (no change from original review)
