“I was in the moment and the moment said smack ya.” – Jimmy Monroe
Number of Times Seen – 1 (9 Sep 2013)
Brief Synopsis – A veteran cop and his wise-cracking screw-up partner try to track down a thief who stole his baseball card worth thousands of dollars.
My Take on it – Bruce Willis and Tracey Morgan are truly mismatched in this movie.
Sean William Scott has some funny lines that make you laugh out loud, but the best scene IMHO is when Morgan tries to get a criminal to talk by using movie quotes [A man truly after my own heart :)]. I understood many of the references, but the best ones were the ones totally unrelated to a crime themed movie like Driving Miss Daisy (1989) and Schindler’s List (1993) because they are just so out there!
The movie has lots of explicit humor, but I wouldn’t have expected anything different from Director Kevin Smith.
The plot is stupid, boring and completely incoherent and if it wasn’t for the movie quote scene I would have rated this movie even lower than I did.
See it at your own risk!
Bottom Line – Funny, but mediocre buddy-buddy cop movie.
Rating – BAFTA Worthy
