Pitch Black (2000)

30a4b2d5152d94448dbd360a7bdcb68f“All you people are so scared of me. Most days I’d take that as a compliment. But it ain’t me you gotta worry about now.” – Riddick

Number of Times Seen – 2 (13 Jun 2006 and 16 Sep 2013)

Brief Synopsis – A starship crash lands on a deserted planet.  The small group of survivor need to decide who is more dangerous, the hardened criminal among them or the unknown predators that are slowly killing them one by one

My Take on it – I actually liked this movie a bit more the first time since it was more entertaining not knowing what was going to happen.

Vin Diesel was pretty much unknown when this movie was made and obviously the fact that two sequels have been made prove that his character has the ability to fill the seats.

None of the other characters are all that memorable, but it’s interesting to see the diverse personalities that they were able to bring together as the group of survivors.

Movie has too many moments where I thought I was watching Alien (1979) which sometimes was a distraction and other times made me like this movie more.

Bottom Line – Very well done action- horror- sci-fi movie, but loses a bit of it’s punch if it isn’t the first time that you see it. Recommended

Rating – Globe Worthy
