“[to Bobby] You’re my people and we have a code. You fight for the guy that’s fighting next to you.” – Stig
Number of Times Seen – 1 (22 Oct 2013)
Brief Synopsis – Two criminals planning a bank robbery each have a secret from the other and when they both find out the truth, their worlds will forever be changed
My Take on it – I really enjoyed this movie.
The tone that is set is very fun and you really get the feeling that these two guys really like each other even though they both are keeping a secret.
Once those secrets are revealed to one another, the whole premise of the movie is flipped over and as much as the characters don’t know what’s in store for them , neither do we.
The plot of this movie was reminiscent of my recently reviewed Charlie Varrick (1973). This movie takes the basic premise and bumps it up a level or two and the result is a movie done really well.
The chemistry between Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg is truly electrifying and they really act as if they have been lifelong best friends.
They realize during the movie that in order to survive they can only trust the other to help them stay alive.
Bottom Line – This was a really fun action movie, can’t remember when I enjoyed an action movie so much in the recent past. Great chemistry between Wahlberg and Washington. Recommended!
Rating – Globe Worthy
Easily one of the best action movies of 2013. Nice review Rob!
