Still Mine (2012)

sm“Age is an abstraction, not a straitjacket.” – Craig Morrison

Number of Times Seen – 1  (23 Oct 2013)

Brief Synopsis – An elderly couple encounter many obstacles when they decide to build a house on their own land.

My Take on it – This was a very touching and heart warming movie.  The story is entertaining to watch and the acting is it’s biggest strength.

James Cromwell definitely deserves some kind of award recognition for this role.  he carries the whole movie not just via his dialogue but also through his movements and expressions.

The story is about how one deals with getting old and the changing times and there is much to reflect upon when thinking about this movie after it is over.

Campbell Scott and Genevieve Bujold both give stellar performances and both are somewhat unrecognizable here making their roles even better since it too me a while to realize who the actors were.

It;s a low budget movie, but worth seeing because it deals so well with a difficult subject.

Bottom Line – Nice heart warming story that makes one think about how life might be when we get old. Recommended!

Rating – Globe Worthy
