Driven (2001)

driven“I got will and I got faith. I believe you can will yourself in anything and do anything. And faith, that is like believing in something, man that’s like having a good disease. It’s contagious, if you hang around with people who have it you’re gonna catch it, and its gonna change your attitude.” – Joe Tanto

Number of Times Seen –  1 (26 Oct 2013)

Brief Synopsis – An aging former top race car driver is hired to help out a new young racer needing help focusing on his driving

My Take on it – Terrible movie!  Now I know why I never was tempted to watch this in the past.

Stallone is completely extraneous here.  The story is boring, the driving doesn’t really get you going and you just don’t care what happens at all.

Avoid at all costs!

Bottom Line – Awful plot (there really isn’t one) Don’t even think racing fans will enjoy this one.

Rating – Razzie Worthy

  5. Stallone originally intended for this movie to be a biopic of the late Ayrton Senna, before settling on basing it on Formula One, attending many races such as the 1997 Italian Grand Prix and stating his goal in a press conference. However, he was unable to procure enough information regarding the category due to the secrecy with which teams protect their cars, so he decided to the film on the now-defunct Champ Car, known at the time as “Championship Auto Racing Teams” (CART).
