Number of Times Seen – 1 (5 Nov 2013)
Brief Synopsis – Four of the main characters from the original return for the sequel which has them deal with getting older and being parents in a small town.
My Take on it – It’s too bad they made this sequel, the original movie was fun and made me even wish I had friends like these, but certain stories should be kept small and they shouldn’t try to make a sequel just to make money.
A magic trick, can’t always be repeated and in this case, the jokes aren’t as funny and the idea has been moved away from the 4 (instead of 5 because Rob Schneider couldn’t do this one) main characters and instead focuses more on their kids, who aren’t as entertaining and enjoyable to watch as their fathers were in the first one.
The one thing I loved about this movie was the 80’s nostalgia masquerade party where I had a lot of fun guessing the 80’s era costumed characters.
Stick to seeing the original if you want to be thoroughly entertained.
Again, lots more SNL alumni make cameos here like in the original, so SNL fans will enjoy trying to spot them.
Bottom Line – Not as good as the original. slightly above-average jokes keep it entertaining, but nothing more than that.
Rating – BAFTA Worthy
