“There was a time when our enemies knew honour…” – Yashida
Number of Times Seen – 1 (6 Nov 2013)
Brief Synopsis – Following the events of X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), Wolverine goes off on his own adventure in Japan.
My Take on it – This is the first stand alone X-Men movie, and the fact that Wolverine is the most popular of the X-Men, it makes sense to create a story just of him.
Unfortunately, one of the things that I have always enjoyed about the X-Men is the way they all work together as a team; they each complement each other to build a formidable force against the bad guys and this movie lacks that.
This movie explores the idea of immortality and the complex effects it can have on a person, his life and the lives of loved ones and the choice to set in a society of honor in japan was definitely the correct choice.
This is a fun superhero movie.
I hope X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) continues the tradition of fun and interesting movies in this canon.
Bottom Line – Fun, super-hero action movie. Not as good as previous movies in the X-Men franchise but that is possibly because of the lack of ensemble that we are used to. Recommended!
Rating – Globe Worthy
Good review. 🙂 Not sure why I didn’t watch this one!
