“Old McDonald had a farm ee i ee i o. And on that farm he shot some guys. Badda boom badda bing bang boom.” – McManus
Number of Times Seen – at least 10 (Theater in 1995, video, DVD, 11 Sep 1999 and 10 Nov 2013)
Brief Synopsis – 5 known criminals band together to commit a giant heist
My Take on it – I recall that when I went to go see this movie in the theater, I had no clue what the movie was about [and even when I left the theater, I also thought that 🙂 ].
This is one of those movies which demands re-watching and not only one time; numerous times. This helps to try and catch many of the twists and hidden pieces to the whole story. I have watched it over 10 times and I definitely spotted new things this time around also as I’m sure I will during my next viewing too.
The cast here does a great job and by not using all-star actors, (but still known actors) we get the opportunity to see the characters as they are and not have that clouded by stardom. Kevin Spacey wasn’t really so popular before this movie, but this is the movie that definitely MADE him a star. He won a best supporting actor Oscar for this movie, even-though he truly is the lead actor here.
Benecio del Toro has a part that steals every scene he is in.
This is a movie where paying attention can pay off since the story is not linear at all and you have to keep track of everything that goes on.
The Oscar for best original screenplay is also very well deserving.
Bottom Line – Excellent story written in such a way that you need to watch the movie numerous times to try and catch most of the twists. Highly Recommended!
Rating – Oscar Worthy
Good review Rob. That twist, I don’t care how many times people say the same thing, works like the dickens everytime.

Great ending. Honestly don’t remember much before the ending, though! Should watch again.
