Number of Times Seen – 1 (4 Dec 2013)
Brief Synopsis – A former Navy Seal who is now a park ranger on an island close to the US-Canadian border, must deal with a band of drug runners and a man with a personal vendetta against him.
My Take on it – I seriously question the casting in this movie.
I haven’t seen a Van Damme movie in many many years and after seeing this, I think he should remain in movies as the hero and not as the villain.
Tom Everett Scott isn’t your typical hero and he seemed a bit out of his league here.
The story isn’t new or overly entertaining, but it is just a typical Die Hard (1988) kind of movie with one man against many who must use his wits to survive.
This isn’t close to being one of the best in the genre.
The script and plot have numerous hits and also misses, but the movie isn’t really very original and many parts were just too predictable.
Bottom Line – Typical mediocre one man against many action movie. Nothing much new here. Interesting to see Van Damme as the villain, but he is still better as a hero.
Rating – BAFTA Worthy
