“Mother always taught me: “Never eat singing food.”” – Rizzo the Rat
Number of Times Seen – 1 (23 Dec 2013)
Brief Synopsis – The Muppets treat us to their version of Charles Dicken’s classic A Christmas Carol.
My Take on it – This was a fun version of the famous tale of redemption on Christmas Eve, but I had trouble getting into it.
I am very familiar with all of The Muppets because I recall as a kid not being able to miss any episode every Sunday night when it was on.
I know that many of you will be disappointed that I didn’t like this movie so much (especially you Cara) :), but as much as I love these furry little creatures, I felt something missing in this rendition of the memorable story of Ebeneezer Scrooge.
The songs here aren’t so memorable besides the opening song.
The thing I loved the most here was the narration which was done in such a remarkable way by Gonzo and Rizzo. Their banter and jokes hit the mark in just about every scene they are in.
It was also great to see Statler and Waldorf (my favorite Muppets) as the Marley Brothers.
Bottom Line – Fun Muppet movie, but there are better versions of a Christmas Carol.
Rating – BAFTA Worthy

Well…agree to disagree. Hahaha. We can agree to love the narration though! One of my favorite parts!

Love this. 🙂 Although the Alastair Sim AND the Bill Murray versions are my two favorites. 😉

I love the Bill Murray version (plan to re-watch soon) Never saw the Alistair Sim one. Is it worth watching?
