Number of Times Seen – 1 (8 Jan 2014)
Brief Synopsis – A family is brought together after a tragedy and the cracks between them start to grow as they spend the weekend together.
My Take on it – I had no clue what to expect watching this movie and was extremely pleased by it.
This is a movie about an extremely dysfunctional family that throughout the movie just continues and continues to amaze.
One would think that when a family gets together after a tragedy they will become closer, but this movie shows that the opposite can occur when there are years and years of anger built up within each and every member of the family.
The strength of this movie is it’s script and dialogue (written by Tracy Letts) which keeps us enthralled as the twists and turns keep moving us into different directions as the story unfolds.
The cast is amazing here and I am so surprised that they were able to convince so many great actors to take a part in this screwed up masterpiece.
Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Dermot Mulroney, Juliette Lewis, Bendict Cumberbatch, Ewan McGregor, Chris Cooper, Sam Shepard, Abigail Breslin and Margo Martindale all comprise this all-star cast.
Bottom Line – Great script and dialogue by Tracy Letts. Acted expertly by this all star cast. Highly Recommended!
Rating – Oscar Worthy
