The Odd Couple II (1998)

Original Cinema Quad Poster - Movie Film Posters“Nothing has changed, Felix. I’m still a pig, you’re still a human vacuum cleaner.” – Oscar Madison

Number of Times Seen – 1 (10 Feb 2014)

Brief Synopsis – Felix and Oscar meet up again after 30 years when their children decide to get married in California

My Take on it – Sometimes sequels just shouldn’t be made.

Unfortunately, this is one of them.

Wather Matthau and Jack Lemmon were always great together, but certain things just shouldn’t be tampered with and trying to find a way to reunite Oscar and Felix after 30 years just doesn’t work.

The only thing this movie has going for it is the chemistry between the two main actors.

The story is boring, the jokes fall flat and the rest of the cast are just wasted.

This movie apparently holds the worlds record for the most years between a movie and it’s sequel (30 years).

I was much happier not knowing what would happen to Felix and Oscar after they ended the original.

Thanks for nothing Neil Simon! 😦

Bottom Line – Not nearly as good as the original.  A waste of two very talented actors who still have great chemistry together.

Rating – Razzie Worthy
