“He’s my friend mother, I trust him.” – Clay Beresford
Number of Times Seen – 1 (25 Feb 2014)
Brief Synopsis – A young man having heart surgery wakes up during the surgery and is able to see and feel everything happening around him.
My Take on it – I didn’t know really what this one was about and I was pleasantly surprise at how well done this thriller was.
Hayden Christensen once again proves he can act here.
The rest of the cast is stellar; Terence Howard, Jessica Alba, Lena Olin, Christopher McDonald, Arliss Howard, Sam Robards and Fisher Stephens are all great here.
This is a good (not great) thriller that is a roller coaster of a film since around every corner are new twists and turns that you never can expect.
What’s scary here is that the concept of people being awake during surgery is true and happens to 1 in every 700 surgeries.
EEK!!!
Bottom Line – Very interesting concept. Lots of twists and turns that make this one a good thriller.
Rating – Globe Worthy

I liked it, but having had 3 operations in my life where I was “put under” it’s a scary thought to think that you could be awake the whole time 😦

Yeah, I can agree with you. While watching this I was incredibly hung up on the concept of being conscious… not something I would want to experience!

This film was originally shot in October 2005, but wasn’t released until November 2007 due to constant delays by The Weinstein Company.
Also, one of the deleted scenes included on the DVD was an alternate introduction for Dr. Larry Lupin (played by Christopher McDonald), who entered the hospital dressed as the Grim Reaper.
