Number of Times Seen – 1 (25 Feb 2014)
Brief Synopsis – The loveable former villain Gru, now a loving father is recruited to be a secret agent to catch a new Super Criminal
My Take on it – As anyone who has read my review of the original Despicable Me (2010), it is no secret that I wasn’t the biggest fan of it.
To me, this movie suffers the same fate.
I have trouble liking any of the characters and the way the characters are drawn really irks me.
The story here wasn’t so memorable to me and I have even avoided watching this one for months because I try not to watch movies I think I won’t like.
That being said, there are a bunch of humorous lines in this one that had me chuckle, but there wasn’t anything that caused uncontrollable laughter.
I think the best characters in this movie are the Minions and if rumors are true, there will be a movie about them coming out in 2015, so hopefully I’ll like that one.
The musical parody numbers they do here were pretty funny.
Bottom Line – Not the biggest fan of this one. Some funny lines, but I just can’t connect with the characters.
Rating – BAFTA Worthy
