Delivery Man (2013)

delivery man“As your lawyer, I was thinking we could plead insanity” – Brett

Number of Times Seen – 1 (9 Mar 2014)

Brief Synopsis – A man who’s “donations” fathered 533 kids, must decide whether to conceal his identity from them or try to get to know his “children”.

My Take on it – Vince Vaughn has his winners and his losers and this one falls into that latter category.

This movie tries to be both a comedy and a drama at the same time and doesn’t work well as either.

The only merit this movie has is that it deals with the whole idea of anonymity in a world where information is key and asks the question of whether it is better to keep that information to yourself or to publicize it.

Most of the jokes here fall completely by the way side and just aren’t funny at all.

Waste of time!

Bottom Line – Terrible movie, doesn’t know whether it wants to be a comedy or a drama and just falls flat in every aspects.  Complete waste of time.

Rating – Razzie Worthy

  1. I intended to see this when it was released, but didn’t make it happen. I’m in no hurry to change that, after reading this and other negative reviews. If I ever do see it, I hope I like it more than you.

  2. I never got around to seeing this because it didn’t look that good, so thank you for confirming my suspicions. It has really been a bad couple of years for Vince Vaughn… this and The Internship and The Watch and The Dilemma! It’s a shame because he can be really hilarious, but I guess everyone goes through a bad patch. Great review!

  3. See the original version, Starbuck. French film I believe. It’s far better. I avoided this completely when I saw previews. I actually like Vince Vaughn but this one looked like such a dud.

      • No prob. Actually when I said it is “far better” I haven’t actually bothered to see The Delivery Man, so I really can’t compare. I just thought this looked like a much cheaper made version of a premise I thought was actually quite interesting. If you don’t hold the premise in that high of a regard, there’s probably no need to seek out Starbuck but the original version made the concept more legitimate and appealing, IMO.
