“Birds of a feather must *hic* together! ” – Uncle Waldo
Number of Times Seen – a few times (video, cable and 8 Apr 2014)
Brief Synopsis – A high society cat and her kittens are kidnapped and stranded in the country and must rely on a streetwise cat to get them back home.
My Take on it – This was the first Disney animated movie made without the guidance of ole Walt and it is largely thought of as being a complete failure.
I wouldn’t go that far because this movie is still quite entertaining (eventhough is bears a striking resemblance to 101 Dalmations (1961), wouldn’t you say) and the blues music used in the soundtrack is pretty unique for a Disney animated feature.
What I like the most about this one tho is the character of Thomas O’Malley. He is so laid back and mellow, but since he is street smart, he is very useful in helping the lost cats try to get back home.
This was the first movie that Eva Gabor lent her voice for (she would later voice Miss Bianca in the two Rescuer movies.)
Bottom Line – Not one of Disney’s best, but the songs are catchy and the story is still interesting and I really like the character of Thomas O’Malley. Recommended!
Rating – Globe Worthy

I LOVE the Aristocats. I know all the songs and its just so much fun to watch. The kittens learning piano reminds me of when I was learning piano when I was a kid..and then Everybody Wants to be a Cat just is the state of mind I’m in most days! 🙂
Man, all these Disney reviews you have are making me so happy everyday. Such awesome memories! I should really kickstart my Disney project….I keep thinking about it.
