“I dont know who I am, but I know what keeps me alive, keeps me out of jail, keeps me from hurtin people. I do as I’m told. What’s the point in any of it? It’s all just gonna boil up and wash us away.” – Joe
Number of Times Seen – 1 (14 Apr 2014)
Brief Synopsis – An ex-con befriends a teenage boy and must decide how to be the best role model for him.
My Take on it – I have read a few positive reviews on this movie and was surprised that I personally didn’t enjoy it.
This movie was too slow moving for my taste and although I’ve read that this is one of Nicholas Cage’s best roles, I personally don’t find that to be the case.
None of the characters were likeable to me and I really didn’t care what would happen to any of them at any point and I only wanted this movie to end as soon as possible.
Basically, this wasn’t my kind of movie so I can’t recommend this one at all
Bottom Line – Very slow moving movie that I was quite bored with.
Rating – Razzie Worthy

One of my favorites of the year so far. Very gripping story, and at times, hard-to-watch, but Cage and Gordon Green make it great. Good review.

The performances were pretty good Dan, but I agree that it was not easy to watch.
