“You know why habit rhymes with rabbit? Because your life goes down a rabbit hole. ” – Daniel Lugo
Number of Times Seen – 1 (8 May 2014)
Brief Synopsis – 3 bodybuilders decide to kidnap a millionaire in order to make money for themselves and everything that can, does go wrong.
My Take on it – I decided to check this movie out after reading a very favorable review from my friend Boaz.
I didn’t like this movie very much, but also can’t say I hated it..
It’s hard to believe that this was based on a true story and that there are people really stupid out there. I subsequently read the true story and was amazed at how close to the truth this was.
That completely astonished me.
This movie had a few funny scenes, but overall I found it to be pretty mediocre.
They tried to make the main characters likeable and the kidnapee to be unlikeable. For me that at least backfired and I only felt sympathy for the victim since the kidnapper themselves were all so stoopid.
Tony Shalhoub plays the victim very well and he is perhaps the brightest spot in this movie.
Having been directed by director Michael Bay, I would have expected something better and that is a pretty big disappointment. 😦
Bottom Line – Unbelievable that this is based on a true story. People can be really stoopid sometimes. There were some funny scenes, but overall it was mediocre and I would have expected something better from Michael Bay and crew. Tony Shalhoub is the best thing about this movie.
Rating – BAFTA Worthy

How funny, like the bizarro version of my review. You would have expected more from Bay, I was thrilled and shocked at how good he made a movie for a change. And your major fault was how they made the bad guys the good guys, and I was impressed at how much fun it was in spite of knowing that. 🙂
Either way I’m flattered you saw it!
