“Gravity, they say you can’t fight it. Well, I disagree. What if love was stronger than gravity.” – Adam
Number of Times Seen – 1 (10 May 2014)
Brief Synopsis – Ten years after their forced separation, two star-crossed lovers must find a way to cross the physical and social gaps between their worlds.
My Take on it – I have always enjoyed sci-fi movies that take you to a cool new world and the level of technology and special effects now allow movie makers to create even better worlds for their storytelling.
This movie introduces us to a world that encompasses twin planets with opposing gravity creating two societies living ‘upside-down’ from one another.
The special effects used to create this world is truly amazing and I was so impressed at how well they were able to do this.
The narrative itself is pretty good and it’s interesting how they were able to use the characters and the “physics” of the planets optimally.
Jim Sturgess and Kirsten Dunst are both more than adequate as the star-crossed lovers who must find a way back to each other.
I really enjoyed this unique world that was created just for this movie and would love to see more stories from within that world.
Bottom Line – Very cool Sci-Fi romance movie. Good narrative and amazing Special Effects. . Recommended!
Rating – Globe Worthy
