Well, I still can’t believe that after 13 months, I have reached the milestone of 750 movies reviewed on my site.
In order to celebrate that new milestone, I decided to do a movie marathon of all 8 live-action, full length movies featuring the Caped Crusader.
Basically, the movies can be categorized in 3 different series; The movie that was a supplement to the very campy TV show from the 60’s, The 4 movies made by Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher in the late 80’s/early 90’s and the Trilogy created by Christopher Nolan in the first decade and a half of this new millennium.
Batman has always been one of my favorite superheroes due to his darker nature and as a kid, I read a lot of comics and many of them featured The Dark Knight.
His character is so dark and even as a vigilante, he has his limits as to what he will do to serve justice.
As a kid, I loved watching the campy Batman TV show from the 60’s and it gave me such great insight into the characters in the Batman universe.
When it became known that Tim Burton was starting it up again in 1989, I was ecstatic and couldn’t wait for it to come out. That became the baseline for all superhero movies for more than a decade.
Christopher Nolan changed all that when he rebooted the whole series with his Dark Knight Trilogy (which are some of my all-time favorite movies).
As much as I love the Marvel universe movies, I still think Batman is one of the best Comic book superhero to be brought to the screen and can’t wait for the upcoming Superman Vs. Batman (whenever they finally release it).
Now on to my reviews of all 8 of the Batman movies.
Enjoy….
Once again, an EXCELLENT milestone choice. You know how to pick ’em, my friend. 😀
