“What are you crying for? It wasn’t a Lassie story. ” – Jonathan
Number of Times Seen – 1 (22 May 2014)
Brief Synopsis – A story that chronicles the lives of two best friends over a twenty-plus year friendship and the way the each want to have relationships like the other one has.
My Take on it – Jack Nicholson and Art Garfunkel play best friends who discuss everything about their lives with one another.
They even discuss the most intimate details of their relationships with the different women that they encounter over the years.
I think that this movie mostly fails because the audience has trouble connecting with these two characters who they themselves seem disconnect with the world around them.
They each strive for what they think the other has, without realizing that there really shouldn’t be any competition between them because they are so different and want different thing from their relationships.
Basically, I found this movie to be OK, but nothing special.
This movie is known as being the first time in a movie where a condom was shown onscreen (in the wrapper ladies…settle down) 🙂
Bottom Line – A very mediocre film that tries to show how “the grass is always greener”.
Rating – BAFTA Worthy
