Number of Times Seen – 1 (26 May 2014)
Brief Synopsis – Based on the truth story of two women who devoted their lives to finding a cure for Breast Cancer; one a victim and one a researcher.
My Take on it – I came across this movie completely by accident and am so happy that I did.
First of all, since I work in the medical research field, this movie spoke to me in ways that most moviegoers don’t fully understand which made the movie even more enjoyable for me.
The script really takes the drama of this true story and sprinkles it with numerous heart warming (and heart wrenching) scenes and add to those humorous aspects that make this movie touch you in so many places all at once.
The cast is amazing in this movie; Helen Hunt, Samantha Morton, Aaron Paul, Alice Eve, Maggie Grace, Rashida Jones. Corey Stoll, Ben McKenzie are all great. I especially loved the inclusion of both Richard Schiff and Bradley Whitford (My two favorite West Wing actors) because they always know how to brighten the screen with their presence.
This movie takes on a serious subject and gives us insight into the battles that people wage against this terrible disease, winning some of those battles while also losing some others.
The message is clear tho: Fight however you can!
Very powerful and moving movie!
Bottom Line – Excellent movie. Great cast. They successfully blend the dramatic aspects of this movie with heart warming (and heart wrenching) ones and even humorous scenes. Highly Recommended!
Rating – Oscar Worthy
