“What is real? How do you define ‘real’? If you’re talking about what you can feel, what you can smell, what you can taste and see, then ‘real’ is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain.” – Morpheus
Number of Times Seen – at least 10 times (Twice in theater, video, 12 Nov 2000, DVD and 10 Jun 2014)
Brief Synopsis – A computer hacker is given the opportunity to find out what is really going on in the world around him.
My Take on it – This movie has a story that is by far one of the best concepts thought of for a movie.
I recall seeing this in the theater and being so blown away by the ideas and the presentation by the Wachowski brothers.
The ideas of the movie waver between being very philosophical and action packed and it constantly moves back and forth between what is the meaning of reality and what is the meaning of fantasy.
The actors are all great here and so many things are executed so well that the flaws that one might find feel completely diluted in contrast.
What ultimately makes everyone remember this movie tho are the kick-ass action scenes that are done with remarkable special effects (This movie won 4 technical Oscars for the FX)
This is an iconic movie that many attempts were made to copy its genius and most (if not all) completely failed to give us what this movie was able to achieve.
It doesn’t matter how many times you watch this, you will always be able to discover new things because it was planned so well.
Bottom Line – Amazing movie that constantly makes one think about the fine line between reality and fantasy. Still great after so many years and viewings. Unbelievable Special effects. Highly Recommended!
Rating – Oscar Worthy

Absolutely Rob, The Matrix is one of my favorites of all time. not just in sci-fi. This movie is pretty much a great reason why I love the movies. 🙂
The bullet-dodging scene would have been something to see in theaters! I wish I were old enough to go at the time.
