The Gold Rush (1925)

 gold rushNumber of Times Seen – 2  (1 May 2009 and 23 Jun 2014)

Brief Synopsis – Charlie Chaplin’s Little Tramp travels to the great north to try and find gold.

My Take on it – Charlie Chaplin takes his Tramp character to the gold rush in the north and as usual, hilarity ensues.

Most of his movies have little to no plot, but rarely do people watch him looking for those aspects. We all just want to see the slapstick comedy he was known for and that we all know and love.

The best scenes in this movie were the shoe eating one, the dancing rolls and the hut teetering on the edge of the Mountain.

Bottom Line – Some classic Chaplin scenes. Story ok, but worth seeing just for the shoe scene. Recommended!

Rating – Globe Worthy
