Blue Thunder (1983)

blue thunder“But there’s a bright side to this, and a moral. I think morals are good for you, I love morals, and the moral of this story is: If you’re walkin’ on eggs, don’t hop. ” – Jack Braddock

Number of Times Seen – 3-5 times (cable and 20 Jul 2014)

Brief Synopsis – An LAPD helicopter pilot gets involved in a government conspiracy when he is given a prototype helicoptor to train with.

My Take on it – This is a rehashed premise dealing with a government conspiracy that doesnt offer much to the viewer.

The helicopter doesnt seem very sophisticated based on today’s standards and quite possibly was more enjoyable 30 years ago.

The action sequences leave much to be desired and that can’t be blamed on the level of special effects. The following year, the tv show Airwolf debuted and the effects and action sequences were much better. I suggsst watching that show instead of this boring movie.

Bottom Line – Not a very good movie that has been done much better so many other times. The Tv show Airwolf which came out the following year was more action packed than this was. Watch that instead of this.

Rating – Razzie Worthy
