Genre Grandeur – July Update

updateThis month’s Genre Grandeur got off to a slow start, but things are now picking up, so expect to see a few more posts over the coming days (two more coming later today).  There is still room for more, so don’t take this as an invitation to bow out (Eric, Mikey, Mutant, V) 🙂

I’ll thank everyone individually in the finale post, but I wanted to take this opportunity to reveal the genre for August.

I honored Niall of RagingFluff with the task to decide on the genre for August and here was his response:

“Seeing as this year is the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War One (july 28th) and the 75th anniversary of the outbreak of World War Two (sept 1st), how about war movies

A very broad genre: Any kind of war movie (roman, medieval, elizabethan, Napoleon, Trafalgar, Revolutionary war, US civil war, WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, etc…)

including comedies and DOCUMENTARIES  … would be especially cool if you could get some reviews of German and Japanese war films”

So there you have it, August’s Genre is War movies, so send them to war@movierob.net by the 25th of August and I’ll post them.

Thanks again to Niall for choosing this genre!

Looking forward to seeing what you all come up with, I already have a few ideas for myself 🙂

  1. Sounds great! I’m not much of a war movies person but I think I have a few floating about in my mind.. For now, I’m working on that Hitchcock review. Film fest and work kind of got in the way but at least the movie is seen.
