“We need a hero, courageous sacrificing people, setting examples for all of us. Everybody loves a hero, people line up for ’em, cheer for them, scream their names, and years later tell how they stood in the rain for hours just to get a glimpse of the one who told them to HOLD ON a second longer. I believe theres a hero in all of us, that keeps us honest, gives us strength, makes us noble. And finally gets us to die with pride. Even though sometimes we have to be steady and give up the thing we want most, even our dreams. – May Parker
Number of Times Seen – 5 Times at least (Theater 2 Aug 2004, DVD and 23 Jul 2014)
Brief Synopsis – The continuing adventures of Spiderman as he deals with a scientist whose invention turns him into a menace for the city.
My Take on it – It’s rare when a sequel is better than its predecessor, but this movie makes a great case for that happening.
Without being too burdened with telling the hero’s origin story, this movie truly takes off right from the start and gives us a very enjoyable and thrilling superhero adventure.
We get to understand on a deeper level the complex life that a superhero and his secret identity must endure to keep those lives separate.
The action and special effects are done extremely well and it seems quite believable to watch him swing through the city with his webslinger.
Bottom Line – Excellent sequel that makes us further understand the complexities of being a superhero who also wants a life. In some ways this is better than its predecessor. Highly recommended!
Rating – Oscar Worthy

This too is very good. I don’t like it as much as the first, but I like it all the same.

I agree–the second one trumps the first one. I always loved the train scene in this…even if it is a little cheesy when the passengers carry them over their heads. And I LOVE Alfred Molina in this. I think Marvel often does a great job with the conflicted villain characters (Loki, Magneto, The Winter Soldier, etc.). No exception here. 🙂
