“I know who you are. If you wanna survive, follow me.” – Four
Number of Times Seen – 1 (27 Jul 2014)
Brief Synopsis – In a futuristic society where everyone is separated into groups based on their abilities, a young girl must decide where to place herself when she comes of age.
My Take on it – It seems that lately, teen themed futuristic stories have become quite popular and with the way each series gets snatched up and made into movies it’s surprising to me that one could be better than the rest.
This is a movie that I’ve been interested in seeing for months and finally got the chance.
I’m already familiar with two of the main actors Shailene Woodley and Anson Elgort from when they acted together in another teen based movie this summer, The Fault in our Stars (2014). They have better chemistry as lovers than siblings, but we’ll see how they are in the sequel to this next year.
I liked the way that we learn about their society and I found the whole premise and story to be captivating and engaging and I cant wait for the next installment.
This, IMHO, is slightly better and more engaging than the Hunger Games trilogy.
Bottom Line – Story that touches on similar themes to the Hunger Games series but is in my opinion slightly superior. Likeable characters and a captivating storyline. Definitely interested in seeing where the next chapters will be heading. Highly Recommended
Rating – Oscar Worthy

It was okay to say the least. But still felt like every other young adult adaptation up to this point. Good review.

I didn’t like this as much as you, and I think Hunger Games better, but I agree Divergent is entertaining in its own right.

I thought the ideas here were more complex and interesting than The Hunger Games but still like both of them

Wow, very high scoring! Great review. I must say I was ridiculously disappointed by this movie, and I had such high hopes!

The book was FAR superior, and this also missed a lot of things that were important. I was pretty let down, and it was one of my most anticipated for the year 😦

The second one is a bit of a chore to get through, but the first one is good and the third one one is great. I would recommend them!
