Inside Man (2006)

inside man “The sooner you STOP being my problem and START being my solution the better off you’ll be. ” – Madeliene White

Number of Times Seen – 2 (6 Nov 2006 and 29 Jul 2014)

Brief Synopsis – Two detectives try to figure out what really happened in the aftermath of a strange bank robbery.

My Take on it – I love great crime capers which constantly keep you guessing as to what is really happening.

This movie perfectly fits into that category.

Denzel Washington and Clive Owen are great adversaries and it’s hard to guess what each character’s agenda is which keeps the viewer on his toes throughout.

Spike Lee made a great movie that is interesting and enjoysble to watch because of it’s unique use of flashbacks and real time.

The plot and script are done extremely well despite a few holes.

One of the thing that I loved about this movie was that eventhough I knew what would happen, the second viewing was so eye opening because you get to catch everything that you missed the first time around.

I am even tempted to say that I enjoyed this even more during the rewatch. I have a feeling that I wont be waiting another 8 years to watch this again….

Bottom Line – Excellent crime caper with lots of twists and turns. Second viewing is definitely more eye opening than the first. Owens and Washington are great when pitted against each other. Highly recommended!

Rating – Oscar Worthy

  3. Good review. It was nice to see Lee try his hand at a mainstream flick, while also still keep some of his indie sensibilities. It doesn’t always work, but when it does, it’s an entertaining time.
