Number of Times Seen – 1 (31 Jul 2014)

Brief Synopsis – While driving one night, a man’s life is completely thrown into jeopardy by a mere phone call.

My Take on it – A few months ago, I read some interesting reviews of this movie and was surprised that such a premise got so much love. It even appears on lots of half time top 10 lists for the year.

The entire movie takes place in a car and we are treated to an amazing performance by Tom Hardy who is the only actor we see. We get to see his frustration as things slowly begin to fall apart around him solely based on his phone conversations.

I now understand how this movie graces those top ten lists. Im sure it woukd break into mine, but it’s right now pretty close.

Bottom Line – Excellent premise that takes an everyday event and creates an interesting story keeping us as a voyeur watching as the chaos of the character’s life keeps expanding slowly around him. Great solo performance by Tom Hardy. Highly recommended!

Rating – Oscar Worthy
