Number of Times Seen – 1 (9 Sep 2014)

Brief Synopsis – A young girl feeling neglected by her parents finds a secret door to another world which seems to be much better, but looks can be often very deceiving.

My Take on it – This is another movie that I never heard of before it was now recommended to me.

As far as animation goes, this is a wonderous achievement. To date this is the longest stop motion animated movie ever filmed clocking in at about 100 minutes.

The story is solid, but if often slows down a bit too much and a few scenes can even be classified as slightly boring.

The visuals are amazing but done in a sorta creepy way that it wasn’t as enjoyable to watch the characters on the screen as with most animated movies.

Bottom Line – Great story done expertly using stop motion animation. Story lulls a bit along the way tho and the visuals, albeit amazing are actually also quite creepy. Recommended!

Rating – Globe Worthy

  1. Yaaayyy! Glad you got around to this one. Agreed–the animation is really impressive. But of COURSE it’s a little creepy–it’s meant to be! 😉 Good review, Rob! Sorry you didn’t love it as much as I do, but I’m glad you at least liked it!
