Movies From the Hat: Intermission (2003)

Intermission “…I will TCB, as they say in the States. I will “take care of business.” – Mr. Henderson

Number of Times Seen – 1 (10 Sep 2014)

Brief Synopsis – A number of interconnected stories of the lives of people living in Dublin dealing with love, crime and money.

My Take on it – I’m usually not the biggest fan of films where it’s more difficult to understand what the characters are saying because of their heavy accents, but this one actually was quite enjoyable for me.

The stories are all interesting to watch and it was fun piecing together all the stories to fully understand what was going on.  This movies gives you a few clues along the way so it isn’t completely shocking when you learn the connections, but rather more eye opening to say the least.

The actors involved in this ‘indie’ flick are more widely known now than most were then and it’s no wonder because of the talents they each have.

Colin Farrell, Kelly MacDonald, Colm Meaney, Cillian Murphy and Shirley Henderson are all excellent here.

Bottom Line – Interesting way of combining the separate lives of people in Dublin.  Great acting and also amazing how numerous future known actors appear here in this “indie” flick. Recommended!

Rating – Globe Worthy
