“That’s how they git you. They’re under the goddamned ground! ” – Valentine McKee
Number of Times Seen – 1 (10 Sep 2014)
Brief Synopsis – The population of a very small town in Nevada is terrorized by creatures that move and attack from under the ground.
My Take on it – Anyone who knows me, is aware of the fact that I’m not the biggest fan of horror movies. So when this movie was recommended to me, I hesistated at first but then decided that it would be a good opportunity to try one out because it seemed like a fun choice.
It really was fun watching this movie mainly due to the fact that it doesn’t seem to take itself very serious.
I loved that the creatures looked very similar to the sand creatures in Dune (1984), so I didn’t find them to be enturely menacing.
The casting of Kevin Bacon, Michael Gross and Fred Ward was great because they all seem perfecting cast against type.
Although it’s silly, I had a ball with it.
Bottom Line – Felt more like it was spoofing horror movies instead of actually being one. Bacon, Gross and Ward are all great here as crazy hicks. Very fun movie. Recommended!
Rating – Globe Worthy

Yay! Keen observation. Its actually a homage to the creature features of the 1950’s 😀

I agree, this was a fun movie. Along with the threat of these creatures, there is some comedic genius in the film. 🙂
