“99% honesty is the foundation of any relationship.” – Allan
Number of Times Seen – 1 (6 Nov 2014)
Brief Synopsis – After meeting at a party, a man and a woman become fast friends but know that nothing can ever happen between them because she is in a conmitted relationship.
My Take on it – The premise here is similar to When Harry Met Sally (1989) in the fact that it asks the question as to whether a man and woman can just be friends.
The chemistry between leads Daniel Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan is very good and I could believe their fast and meaningful friendship.
The problem here is the fact that the whole story fits perfectly into the usual formulatic rom-com and instead of trying to find a unique take on the normal storyline, it just follows the recipe used so many times beforehand.
That being said, it was a fun watch, but will never reach iconic rom-com status like WHMS.
Bottom Line – A fun formulatic rom-com that tries to be a When Harry Met Sally (1989), but will never reach that iconic status because it’s not as memorable. Recommended!
Rating – Globe Worthy
