“Does her train ever make it to Orlando?” – Layne
Number of Times Seen – 1 (27 Nov 2014)
Brief Synopsis – A man questions his relationship when it’s called into question whether his girlfriend is satisfied enough by him.
My Take on it – Certain movies manage to break the mold of the standard rom-com format.
This movie is not one of them.
The storyline is basically the standard rom-com that we have all seen done so many times.
The unique part of this movie tho is the fact that the story is interspersed by numerous couples discussing their relationships ala When Harry Met Sally (1989), but the gimmick here is that these storytellers all end up being minor characters in the movie.
The script has some clever moments and an amazingly original list of euphemisms for lovemaking acts to help with the modern colloquial dialogue.
Great and funny interviews with characters during the credits.
Bottom Line – Pretty bland and mediocre rom-com that could have been much better. Excellent uses of euphemisms in the dialogue.
Rating – BAFTA Worthy
