“Really? Well, on my planet, we have a legend about people like you. It’s called Footloose. And in it, a great hero, named Kevin Bacon, teaches an entire city full of people with sticks up their butts that, dancing, well, is the greatest thing there is. ” – Peter Quill

Brief Synopsis – A group of criminal misfits band together to save a planet from total annihilation.
My Take on it – For those of u who know me, you know that it’s quite rare for me to rewatch a movie so soon after sering it for the first time.
This movie was so good that I just HAD to see it again so soon after seeing it a mere 18 days ago.
There is so much happening that in order to successfully absorb everything, multiple views are required.
This movie has such an amazing feel to it that it seems very familiar. Numerous scenes clearly made me think of the Star Wars universe proving that this is moving in the right direction.
This movie does an amazing job mixing genres while keeping us thoroughly entertained.
It skillfully uses the genres of superheros, comedy, adventure and sci fi to keep us entranced and amazed throughout.
This mix also helps make this movie the best so far in the Marvel superhero franchise. If this is the direction they are going, we have so much in store for us in the future.
The choice of music and other 70’s and 80’s nostalgia are perfectly woven into the script and give us the feel for a kid of the 80’s trying to hold on to his childhood memories while being very far from home.
I especially loved the Footloose (1984) reference. 😉
Once again, I can’t wait to see this again!
Bottom Line – Great mix of sci-fi, superheros, comedy and adventure make this the best movie in the Marvel franchise so far. Great choice of music. So much is going on that even more viewing are required to try and grasp it all. Highly recommended!
