“What’s in the box? ” – David Mills
Number of Times Seen – 2 ( 4 Mar 2000 and 8 Dec 2014)
Brief Synopsis – Two newly partnered detectives, a veteran about to retire and a rookie, begin to investigate grizzly murders that seem to have biblical connections.
My Take on it – Certain movies have left a strong and lasting impression on viewers since the invention of cinema.
This movie is part of that list because of the premise and execution. There are some movies on the list that stand up to multiple viewings because of the novelty and innovation.
I feel that this movie tho loses a lot of its impact upon multiple viewings and that takes away from the viewing experience.
I liked the pairing of Morgan Freeman with Brad Pitt because they truly personified partners who are complete opposites yet find a way in the short time they have together to make their partnership work.
If you’ve never seen this, be forewarned of very graphic violence.
Bottom Line – Very good premise and storyline that loses much of its umphh upon multiple viewings. Enjoy the pairing of Freeman and Pitt. Recommended!
Rating – Globe Worthy

Anyone who puts Gwyneth’s head in the box is okay by me. This movie is so kick-ass. Top-of-the-line David Fincher in this kid’s eyes.

Nice work, Rob! I can see where it might lose some of the impact on a second viewing since you lose that surprise with the twist, but for whatever reason, I think it’s one I actually appreciate more with each viewing. Just so twisted and awesome.
