“Eventhough the Brady Bunch started off as a Hollywood invention, in many ways, we DID become a family” – Narrator
Number of Times Seen – 1 (10 Dec 2014)
Brief Synopsis – Based on the tell-all book by eldest Brady kid Barry Williams (Greg) on what went on behind the scenes of the hit show from the early 70’s.
My Take on it – Anyone who has been following me recently, probably noticed that I seem to be a fan of The Brady Bunch which I watched the reruns all the time as a kid.
That being said, I had heard about Barry Williams tell-all book about growing up as a Brady, but I have never read or seen this until now.
This movie was interesting from the perspective that it added a bit to my Brady knowledge allowing me to get to know the characters and actors better.
On the other hand, this was a very mediocre movie that will pretty much only be enjoyed fully by diehard fans of the series.
Loved the Mike Lookinland (Bobby) connections here. He has a cameo as a cameraman and his real life son actually plays Bobby.
Bottom Line – Fun to see what happened behind the scenes, but in the end it just seems like a very mediocre made for TV movie. Liked how the gave a cameo to “Bobby” as a grown up. Basically just for the diehard Brady Bunch fans who want a bit of nostalgia.
Rating – BAFTA Worthy
