“I am offering you a chance to do the right thing. Take it.” – Robert McCall
Number of Times Seen – 1 (14 Dec 2014)
Brief Synopsis – An ex-CIA agent trying to live a peaceful life get mixed up with the Russian mafia when trying to protect a young girl.
My Take on it – What is it with actors that try to remain action heroes well into their 60’s?
Denzel has been making movies like this for years and just like Liam Neeson, he just keeps at it whether the movies are good or bad.
This one was neither, but it also wasn’t anything like the TV show it was presumably based on either.
This movie sat in development hell for years and it’s probably because no one thought it would be better than average.
It still isn’t.
Bottom Line – Typical Denzel action vehicle that feels like a rehash of his previous attempts of acting like Liam Neeson.
Rating – BAFTA Worthy

Gotta agree with your thoughts on this one, despite me not seeing it! Haha. I guess that proves it’s a predictable action vehicle for Denzel.

Another one of Denzel’s goofy movies, but one that still works. Good review.

works only on a superficial level tho 😦

As Denzel preyed upon the villians in the dark at the end, I felt I was watching a slasher film. You know things have gone horribly wrong when you start to feel sorry for the bad guys.

That’s actually funny. when I think about it, you are completely right about that 🙂

Just because Denzel is Denzel, I managed to have more fun with this one than I thought I would. But, yeah…still fairly blah, huh? Good review, Rob!
