The Ipcress File (1965)

ipcress file“And we still have to find Radcliffe, gentlemen. That means more legwork and fewer inspired hunches. ” – Major Darby

Number of Times Seen – 1 (23 Dec 2014)

Brief Synopsis – A British agent is sent undercover to find out why numerous British scientists have inexplicably quit their jobs.

My Take on it – I like thrillers and has heard that this is supposedly one of the best British thrillers from the 60’s.

Unfortunately, despite it having an interesting premise, it is presented in such a boring manner that perhaps worked much better during the 60’s, but doesn’t translate very well to the 21st century.

To help illustrate how bored I was, I actually almost fell asleep watching this because it moved sooooo ssslllooowwwllllyyyy (slowly).

Perhaps it is suppose to be like this in an attempt to raise the level of suspence, but that just proves it isn’t for me.

I say skip it!

Bottom Line – Interesting plot that probably worked much better when it was written, but extremely slow and boring to watch now.  Almost fell asleep numerous times.

Rating – Razzie Worthy
