Annie (2014)

annie“It’s a hard-knock life for us” – Annie

Number of Times Seen – 1 (4 Jan 2015)

Brief Synopsis – A modernized adaptation of the story of an orphan girl who gets taken in by a rich man.

My Take on it – I’m a big fan of the 1982 adaptation of this musical and I cant figure out for the life of me why they needed a remake so soon.

I didn’t particularly like the way the songs were redone as hip hop and in some cases they even changed some of the lyrics in order to try and be more PC.

I think that this was a completely unnecessary remake and still wonder when Hollywood will realize that they don’t need to try and reinvent every hit after such a short time.

This movie does have a few interesting scenes, but overall, if you’re interested in seeing this story as it should be seen, see the 1982 adaptation which is more fun and interesting.

Bottom Line – Not nearly as good or fun as the 1982 film. Hollywood needs to learn that not everything needs to be remade and reimagined.

Rating – BAFTA Worthy
